STOP SENDING ME EMAIL.
I’m serious. Stop it. Even coupons.
I have a list as long as my arm of retailers who won’t leave me alone. It’s a crazy awful marketing practice.
Look at it this way: I’m an introvert. I dislike going out to stores to shop in most instances. I don’t like pushy sales associates. I don’t like trying on clothes. I don’t like driving to more than one mall for the stores I need.
I prefer online shopping to an absurd degree.
But if every time I shop at your site, it automatically re-subscribes me to your mailing list, I’m going to stop shopping there.
And that won’t mean I go into your stores, it just means you won’t get my money.
PayPal isn’t perfect, but if every online retailer either accepted PayPal or Amazon’s version of it, I would love that. No more giving my email and credit card information to all and sundry. No more creating endless accounts, entering my address times infinity, or having to remember oodles of specifically crazy mandated passwords (must have at least 12 characters, upper and lower case, one number, one symbol, one ancient rune, and one Old High Gallifreyan character…)
Just. Stop. Okay?

It also makes me experience their product as spam. Who wants that? It completely devalues it!
